The Southernhay House Hotel boasts exquisite decor with tasteful antique furniture and cozy upholstery. Navigating the hotel was easy for me as a senior, and the staff were exceptionally attentive, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere throughout my stay.
No grab bars in the shower would help seniors.

I had a lovely night in a charming room where I enjoyed a delicious breakfast with roasted tomatoes and mushrooms that really hit the spot! It was fantastic to relax in the garden area and unwind on the sun terrace. The only thing was that the pillows were quite firm, so you might want to bring your own if you prefer something softer. 😊

Couple getaway done right
We really enjoyed the friendly service and made us feel like we were at a friend's place, not a hotel. Plus the breakfast was just incredible, they had a lot of options and it was all well-prepared.
It wasn't the cheapest option but still worth it for the experience.

Could be noisy at night due to bar activities.

I had a lovely time at Southernhay House. The shower was fantastic, very spacious with a nice walk-in feature. The bed felt like a cloud, super comfortable, leading to a great night's sleep. The decor throughout the hotel had a charming blend of modern touches and historical elements that created a cozy vibe. Breakfast was a highlight with a wide selection including delicious fresh kippers. it really set the tone for the day. The staff truly stood out, friendly and welcoming, always making sure I felt taken care of. I found the room a bit warm even with the heating off, and the pillows were quite firm for my liking. Some grab bars in the shower would definitely improve safety for seniors or anyone needing that extra support. The lack of parking on site was inconvenient especially during busy periods, requiring a bit of searching for nearby options. a delightful stay with just a few adjustments needed on comfort and parking.

The room was spacious and offered excellent facilities, ensuring a comfortable night. The location is convenient, with major attractions within walking distance. the dining experience fell short of expectations due to the unimpressive quality and insufficient quantity of the meal served during the private dining. While the breakfast was delicious and personally served, the evening meal lacked flavor and left diners unsatisfied.
